Minutes of Committee meeting 1400, Wed 23 Aug 2006.  Chez  Jerry

1.Matters arising from meeting of 15 July 2006.  JAC reported that he had was waiting for
 responses from the School PTA and Oceanus Sailing School.  Action with either would now not
 be practical until 2007.  There were favourable comments on the effects of the newsletter
 on interest in the race programme.  Radio malfunction:  the defective radio needs to be
 returned to the UK agents for repair after the sailing season.
2.Sailing programme. To date:  there had been good turnouts for the Mowbray Trophy and
 Ladies/Overy Jerry.  The Oram had been postponed due to calms on the first two days. 
 Consequently, the racing was held at Brancaster on one day only.  Plans for the Regatta Period
 were in hand.  It is hoped to hold the Trafalgar Trophy Race on 9/10 Sept, but the terms of
 gift of the Trophy need to be checked with the Donor. C G offered to act as OOD.
3.Party/ Disco.  AS reported that the hog roast was booked and the Hero had agreed to run the
 bar.  CG had installed the awning, on condition it would be available free of charge for the
 SC.  The cttee thanked CG.  JAC informed the committee that Peter Russell had reminded him
 that the disco should stop at 1130, and that the Hall must be cleared and cleaned after the
 party, and benches and tables must be ready for collection on the Sunday Morning, for use at
 the Overy Fete.
4.Start line seat.  JAC reported an offer by Klaus Schiller to provide a new bench at the SC
 Start Line, in memory of Rob Austin, who was brought up in Overy Staithe, but died in Fiji. 
 Agreed, that the offer of the bench should be accepted gratefully, provided the design and
 site are approved by the Harbour Trust, Parish Council and DEFRA.
5.AOB:  The Officers were asked to ensure that OODs post race results on the notice board. 
 Agreed: to use the Village News to try to recruit a regular ace officer (Action, JAC).
